The Idyllic Summer Holiday Destination on Dartmoor in Devon
Summer is nearly upon us here on Dartmoor and there has never been a better time to visit. The sun twinkles off streams and rivers that flow through the landscape, and seasonal wild flowers grow in amongst wooded areas. It’s a great time for wildlife too with everything from the famous Dartmoor ponies to rabbits, foxes, otters and deer all out in force enjoying the warmest season the region has to offer.
Come and visit Dartmoor Zoological park, the inspiration behind Hollywood film ‘We bought a Zoo’ starring Matt Damon and Scarlett Johansson – or Southcombe Gardens, especially beautiful over the Summer as the Gardens open to the public. In June it is dazzlingly colourful. Grass paths wind through 3 acres of flowering and exotic trees. At 900ft above sea level there are also amazing views to nearby tors.
Here at Holne Chase our holiday cottages provide a perfect base camp from which you can explore Devon and areas surrounding Dartmoor; giving you the flexibility to come and go as you please without compromising on the luxury and quality of your holiday accommodation.
